Helpful Hint—Cookies:
There's often some confusion about cookies, so here's a quick description and advice for handling them. A cookie is a small
piece of information sent from a web site to a browser, such as Internet Explorer or Firefox. It is stored as a text file on the computer.
There are two different types of cookies, first-party, and third-party. First-party cookies are most often used by web sites to track personal
preferences and such. For example, a site might remember the login you used when you last visited the site. This is done with a cookie. The web site
doesn't remember you at all, your browser sends the cookie back to the site, so it looks like the site remembers you. Third-party cookies, on the
other hand, are most often used by advertisers to track advertising performance. Should you worry about cookies? Probably not, at least most of them,
although it's a good idea to clean out your cookies and temporary Internet files every month or so.
